You are receiving an error "Windows cannot kickoff this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code xix)" when trying to burn CD using Windows Media Player.


1) Accept y'all fabricated whatever changes prior to the issue?
2) What is the model of the computer?

Let's follow the methods provided below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Run the Hardware troubleshooter and cheque.
Follow the steps to run the troubleshooter:
a. Printing Windows key + C on your keyboard to show the Charms bar.
b. Blazon Troubleshooting and click Troubleshooting under Settings.
c. At present blazon Hardware Troubleshooter in the search option.
d. Click on Hardware troubleshooter to run the troubleshooter.

Method two: Uninstall, reinstall the CD/DVD drivers.
a. Printing the 'Windows primal + Westward' central on the keyboard.
b. Type device manager in the search box then press enter.
c. Click "device manager" option from the list appeared in the left side.
d. Device Manager, expand DVD/CD-ROM drives, right-click the CD and DVD devices, then click Uninstall.

I tried the first 2 methods but at that place is no 'compatibility' tab in the properties for the driver. I am running Windows eight and I have non made any changes to my laptop.  It is a Dell inspiron 17R 5720/7720.

Hi,

Do you have any CyberLink programs like PowerDVD for example?

If and so, uninstall them and come across if it helps. I and a number of other people accept had a problem with them on Win eight.

Toshiba has a similar error caused by their Recovery Deejay creation software, simply I hve not heard of Dell having this issue.

I actually don't want to ship my laptop dorsum but I have tried all of the solutions and zilch has worked.

I have not institute one but I call for tech support and the lines are always decorated. I attempt to chat with Dell tech'south and I  get a message dorsum that says all lines are decorated.  Not sure what else I can practice.

It sounds like they have a lot of unhappy customers.

I have included a link to a file called Adaptec UDF Reader Commuter. There have been a number of times when installing this driver stock-still the problem when nil else would...It might work
